For a long time, pregnancy & birth was just something to 'get through.’ Everything changed for me when I gave birth to my second child i felt unheard, unsafe, and as if was a burden to the staff with my pain after having a C-section. On the 2nd day after my C-section there was no toilet tissue in the bathroom, i called for an aide and explained to her there were no tissue as I was sitting on the toilet, when she came back with one she tossed it on the floor of the bathroom and left. At that moment, I felt my lowest. A time I was supposed to feel my happiest I felt shame. I never want another mom to feel the way that I did. Because I have been there, I know how deeply your voice matters. I have decided to support families through the beautiful, unpredictable transition into parenthood.
